Fall Boredom

Rain is a good excuse to do do nothing. Although for the last weeks of a very literally uneventful summer, I've been secretly looking forward to the seasonal change. We may actually have more to do this fall. Autumn, with It's  magically fresh and crisp air and pumpkin spice everything, and various events involving dry corn and hay. When it dropped below seventy and I put on my thick socks, painted my nails a dark shade and stepped on the scale to find that I'd gained 12 pounds since March, I wanted to dig a deep hole and pull the earth over my head. But I do have the benefit of the two of my oldest at school all day so more time on my hands equals more potential to clean and organize and....lose the weight before Christmas. That's right... Intense focus, that's what fall means for a stay-at-home mom. You may have heard someone describe the effects of global warming to be evident everywhere but in Michigan. Well, that's got some merit. We do have the best ability to turn summer into winter with the fewest days of messing around in between of any other state. I hope I can keep this ability to rationalize so positively though the next 6 months.
